Make the most of that sunshine

After being battered with wind and rain for what seems like forever, most of the UK is finally being treated to that most elusive of weather conditions—sunshine! Yep, summer is finally upon us, and that means you need to make the most of it by getting out those summer clothes. We don’t know how long it’s going to last, after all…

Stay cool in the workplace

You might be holed up in an office somewhere, but that doesn’t mean you can’t show your summer style credentials. Think soft, breathable materials like cotton or linen, go for summery styles that have a professional edge and always give the synthetics a miss unless you want to melt on your lunch break. But, don’t get complacent—you’ll still need a thin jacket of some kind for those air-conditioned offices and after-work drinks, because it can still get a bit nippy if you’re not careful.

Rock the summer look at the beach

If you’re lucky enough to enjoy all this beautiful weather in the great outdoors you can be a bit more daring with your look, but the same basic rules apply—stick to light materials and bring along a handy jacket just in case, and don’t be afraid to get the shorts and skirts out. Shorts can have bit of a bad rep for men as well as women, but really, who wants to wear trousers on days like this?

Don’t forget the accessories!

Once you’ve got your basic look sorted you can turn to the accessories, and at this time of year it’s all about having some fun. Sunnies are of course essential and you can bring a pop of colour into your look with a statement bag or pair of shoes, and remember that you can afford to go with a smaller bag than normal—you won’t need to fit that umbrella in after all!

So what are you waiting for? The sun’s out and your summer wardrobe is itching to be taken advantage of, so make sure you oblige and you can really make the most of all this lovely sunshine.
