Is it time to put the winter coat away?
OK, we don’t want to tempt fate, but it looks like summer might finally be starting to make an appearance! We’ve been treated to some truly glorious weather over the past few days with temperatures apparently beating those in much of Europe and even as far afield as Africa, and after so many weeks of cold, bleak, winter weather it couldn’t have come quick enough. In fact, this summer is expected to be as hot as the scorchers of 2003 and 2006, but does that mean it’s time to put your winter coat away?
Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet—forecasters are predicting that cooler and more unsettled weather could be on the way over the Jubilee/bank holiday weekend (typical), so it might be wise to keep the duffle coat handy for a couple more weeks. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t start to prepare for the warmer weather. If you take a trip to the high street you could well track down some fantastic summertime bargains to revamp your wardrobe without spending a fortune, and if you make sure to stick to layers you’ll be prepared for anything the tricky British weather could throw at you.
You’ll want to get your storage solution sorted as well. Your duffle coat could take up huge amounts of space in a wardrobe that should be reserved for all that must-have summer fashion, so unless you’ve got plenty of closet space you might need an alternative option. Think vacuum packed storage bags, storage boxes or those handy chests you can keep at the end of the bed, and if you’re really short on space it might be worth seeing what external storage options you could come by. So, don’t get rid of the winter coat just yet but start making preparations for when you can, and you’ll be ready for the sweltering summer before you know it!
