Festival chic

Festival season is upon us, and that means it’s the perfect time to start getting ready for that all-important weekend. Once you’ve got the basics sorted (tent, first aid, beer, that kind of thing) you’ll want to look at your wardrobe, and if you do it well you’ll be able to nail the festival chic look to blend in whilst looking great.

The first thing to remember is that layering is key. You can never quite tell what the weather will throw at you and that means it’s important to be prepared, and you’ll also want a few extra layers when the sun goes in and the chill starts to hit. Think thin cardigans, jumpers or hoodies, and of course pack plenty of t-shirts.

Shorts are a great choice for men as well as women—jeans could easily get caked in mud and maxi dresses are a definite no-no unless you want to be dragging round a sopping wet hemline all day, so think short and sweet for maximum comfort. Flip flops should also be given a miss (don’t leave your tootsies open to being trampled!) and make sure to bring a hat or two—after days of not washing your hair a hat will be a stylish yet necessary addition to your outfit.

Wellies are of course a must for any festival-goer, but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring. Hunter is the brand of choice for discerning individuals whilst the Wedge Welly would be ideal for women that want to mix fashion with practicality, or if you want something a bit simpler just head to the high street—ideally look for bold colours and fun patterns to really get into the swing of it.

So, these are just a few key things you need to remember if you’re heading off to a festival any time soon, and if you pack wisely you’ll be able to party in style.
