SANTA’S NEW HELPER PADDINGTON GETS GREAT REVIEWS

Montgomery Duffle coats aren’t the only ones to see the sales of both kids and grown-ups gorgeous duffle coats go through the roof. Marks and Spencer have put their best paw forward to challenge John Lewis’s title for the top Christmas ad with an enchanting advert featuring our one and only Paddington bear. The charming bear unwittingly helps a naughty thief replace all the children’s stolen presents ready for Christmas morning. The timing couldn’t be better as the highly acclaimed Paddington 2 is receiving rave reviews from the box office that’s seen shoppers snaffle the Paddington Bear teddy from the shelves across the M+S stores ready for Christmas.

It’s a lovely win -win story all round, as the Paddington’s’ are all sponsored by the NSPCC, so the brilliant children’s charity is in for a bumper Christmas. Paddington seems set to charm audiences worldwide with his iconic floppy red hat, duffle coat and marmalade sandwiches, who’d of thought this little cuddly bear could do so much good.

It seems only right that this week, St Paul’s cathedral in the heart of London played host to hundreds of well-wishers in a tribute to the writer and author Michael Bond who sadly died earlier this year aged 91. Many people spoke passionately about not only the wonderful creator but also how Paddington had played such a big part in their lives. Paddington 2 star actor Hugh Grant paid tribute to not only a wonderful writer but also the creation of a wonderful bear that seems to have reentered our hearts just when we need him.

Paddington really does seem to have a disarming humility and unequivocal values for justice, compassion, hope and fairness. Montgomery is so very proud of our long established relationship with the little bear. His handmade duffle coat was made here in the UK. We were also delighted to see the fabulous Julie Walters who plays the charming housekeeper and nanny Mrs Bird also wearing our fabulous Yorkshire tweed with wooden toggles.

There’s something very iconic, British and charming about everything associated with Paddington Bear and it’s an absolute delight for Montgomery Duffle Coats to have dressed such loveable bear.
